My studio process centers on water-based media, working with layers of acrylic gouache on shaped Yupo paper. I begin with an intuitive thin wash, allowing water and pigment to move freely across the surface. This initial flow establishes the image's underlying structure. From there, I build successive layers of opaque and translucent paint, responding to what has already emerged rather than imposing a fixed plan. Each layer builds structure and definition, allowing the image and narrative to develop as the painting progresses.
